This documentary looks at the lives of the endangered red-crowned cranes at two nature reserves in China, plus the difficulties the cranes face as they grow up, and the crisis facing the species. A pair of cranes at Zhalong Reserve is attacked by other cranes as they incubate their eggs. The eggs get cold so the hen has to lay more eggs. At Yancheng Reserve, some crane chicks have mysteriously died.
